The gates were a percent for art commission for a new build residential flats, and were a collaboration between Stig Evans and Alan Phillips Architects. The gates could be described as ‘readymades’ or ‘objet trouvé as they are based on a bar code from a packet of cigarettes found in front of the building, the gates re-present on a grand scale our relationship with urban architecture and urban contemporary living.
The colour palette for the gates come from the surrounding architecture and natural elements reflected in that architecture
Solar powered lights come on at night and the vehicle gates bars illuminate on opening.
